Sausage, Peppers & Onions Skillet
This quick, flavorful skillet dish features sliced pre-cooked chicken or turkey sausage with tender onions and bell peppers, seasoned with Italian herbs and a splash of balsamic vinegar.
Ingredients
Yellow onions, peeled and sliced into rings – 6 cups (~1½ large onions)
Large bell peppers, sliced ~¼ inch thick – 2 (4 cups)
Fully cooked reduced-fat chicken or turkey sausages – 1 package (12 oz, 4 sausages)
Olive oil, divided – 3 tsp
Dried oregano – ¼ tsp
Dried basil – ¼ tsp
Salt & freshly ground black pepper – to taste
Fresh garlic, minced – 2 tsp
Balsamic vinegar – 1 tbsp
Cooking spray – as needed
